Simplicity, purity, calmness, silence and at the same time, strength.
This is the spirit lying behind the concept of Khadi. This is the
world behind the Khadi fabrics. Cottons and silks, hand spun and hand
woven in the villages of the deepest reality of India:
her Country, made of 750,000 villages where 700 million people live.
Something made by hand, at home, helping to sustain the livelihood of
thousands of villagers who, by making Khadi, don't have to migrate to
the lost streets of the Indian metropolis.
This was Gandhi's dream and of this he made one of the pillars of the
peaceful movement
which led India to freedom. That's why Khadi is also known as the
fabric of freedom.
And this is what has inspired us to create a
line called
Ananda India Yoga
Line in soft muslin
cottons from Rajasthan for
shirts,
cotton like linen for trousers
and simple silk
clothes
hand woven in Bhagalpur, Bihar.
